350 at the Avenues Street Fair

Peaceful Uprising is helping to organize an event in Salt Lake City for the 350.org International Day of Action for Climate Justice on October 24. Thousands of actions will be happening around the world, sending a strong message to our leaders, urging them to reduce carbon emissions and secure a liveable future. Here in Salt Lake on 10.24, there will be a festival at Library Plaza featuring music, visual and performing arts, speakers, a critical mass bike ride, and a 350 human formation with an arial photo. On Saturday 9/12, members of Peaceup visited the Avenues Street Fair, inviting everyone to the Day of Action, and educating them about the very important number 350. Highlights included a visit with President Obama and talking to kids who thought we were Sesame Street on tour.
